Before David Cronenberg was a genius, he was... well...a genius. This is one the most famous part of VIDEODROME, his most ultimate movie to date. When the movie was released in 1983, it lost tons of money. Fortunately Cronenberg was already finishing up DEAD ZONE, who saved his career. I really wonder if somebody could raise enough money to do a movie like VIDEODROME nowadays. This excerpt is not for the faint of hart...

Since we're talking about cars... PIT STOP is more about cars than anything I've seen. Cars are the main characters of this movie. Jack Hill, the director was probably deeply in love with them. The best part of PIT STOP is the part in the desert with some dragsters, they're filmed like they're animals. Jack Hill is better known for other movies like COFFY or FOXY BROWN.

In 1986, long before anybody was aware of the craziness of Chinese films, John Carpenter directed BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA which was his homage to the Chinese cinema. This is one of my favorite cult movies and one of Gobi's main inspiration. While I'm writing TEQUILA, he calls me saying that he wants to have Jack Burton (the main character) to be friend with Tequila. I explained him that it could be complicated, there's probably an authorization needed but he didn't care, he told me to call John Carpenter and ask him... Yeah right! Here's the trailer.
