The Invisibles
Since I feel like I'm going through a tranformative stage in my life (turning 30, getting married, living healthier) I'm rereading Grant Morrison and Company's "The Invisibles". This comic had a profound effect on my in my early-mid 20s. I was a bit bored with college. I was at a point in life where I lost a sense of passion for life and spirituality. But when I read an interview Grant Morrision did which recounted his experiences of abduction by 5th dimensional beings in South America... I started to fall in love with life again. :-)
Invisibles is about life, magick, aliens, humanity, sexuality, transformation, and spirituality. But it's relayed in a manner that can be interpreted as comic-booky gibberish to ignorant ears.
Read it when you have the chance. It may change your life.

Greenbelt Jen:
It's definitely a good time to be a comic fan. The level of quality all around has been the highest that I can remember. There's a lot to be enjoyed on the Marvel and DC side...and even more from talented creators doing original work.
Thanks for stopping by and THANK YOU for spreading the word on Lucha Libre! :-)

Yeah, I can understand that. The big two are often mired in continuity, which wouldn't be too bad if they'd actually stick to it instead of rewriting it every couple years.
Remember the 1980's when there were a zillion independent and small press comicbook companies? Seems to be a resurgence of that. It's a pretty cool time to be reading comics again.
Love your Lucha Libre stuff. My local shop carries it and I talk it up when I get the chance.

Greenbelt Jen:
I have the Mad Yak version of "Anarchy for the Masses". A great supplementary read.
I've been curious about Seven Soldiers. I read the JH Williams drawn issue 0 which was pretty cool... but I tend to enjoy Grant Morrison's creator-owned work a bit more. I'm not big on DC comics history, so I feel like I'm missing something when I read a lot of his DC Superhero stuff.

Disinformation publishes a fantastic guide to the Invisibles ("Anarchy for the Masses: the Disinformation Guide to the Invisibles").
If you haven't read it yet, Morrison's Seven Soldiers of Victory mini-series is pretty good too. It's collected into 4 trades.
Cheers!
