Scud: The Disposable Assassin
Scud: The Disposable Assassin is back. And I couldn't be happier!
Scud's premise is brilliant. Scud's a robot assassin you can buy from a vending machine who self destructs upon killing his intended target. Upon realizing that he'll die as soon as his mission's complete, Scud critically wounds Jeff, his intended victim (instead of killing her), and puts her in a Hospital's Intensive Care Unit. To pay the costly hospital bills, Scud becomes a bounty hunter. Hilarity and violence ensues.
It's been over 10 years since we've seen a new issue of the Scud comic by Rob Schrab. Rob's been very busy in those 10 years. Scud became a Sega Saturn videogame. Rob got a taste of Hollywood when he was asked by Ben Stiller to write a live-action pilot t.v. episode for the then "unknown" Jack Black and Owen Wilson. The results? "Heat Vision and Jack". The pilot episode was never shown on TV, but it's cult following became huge via bootleg videotapes and the internet (YOU CAN SEE IT HERE). He then went on to co-write the animated feature film "Monster House" and finally ended up as a writer/director on Comedy Central's "The Sarah Silverman Program".
Quite a resume, eh?
Now he's back doing the comic that started it all... and it's everything you'd expect. If you're a fan of Scud, or just love comics with humor and great ideas, I highly recommend you pick it up (starting with #21).

Luvyatoo:
Scud's great. Really zany stuff. So many brilliant ideas. I'm tempted to spoil a few for you, but it's worth experiencing it for yourself. A collection of the entire series should be out in July (in time for Comicon). If you can wait that long, it'll be the most affordable way to experience the series in it's entirety.
If you want a cheap sampling of what it's like, I'd suggest picking up one of the more recent issues (#21-24)... if you like what you see their, picking up the complete tradepaperback is a must!
Secret Original:
Thanks for the clarification. I thought it was based on the missile... but it's been so long that I don't remember the in comic reference.

As a matter of fact his name is derived from the missile, a small panel in the comic shows Scud's previous models, one of them happens to be a Scud missile.

wonder - is Scud's name derived from the missile of the same name? I remember during Desert Storm always hearing news reports talking about Scud missiles & Patriot missiles.
Scud is one of those rare comics I've been hearing about for ages but never gotten down with; I'd kind of forgotten about it. Might be time to give it a shot!
