Star Cine Cosmos
The 60s were the best period for the photonovel industry, which was huge in Italy and in France. There were all kind of photonovels: romance, horror, western, sci-fi, adventure… Most of them were movie shots, but in Italy they produced real original stories, with characters photographed in settings. Each genre had its own collection. The most famous was the french STAR CINE COSMOS, dedicated to sci fi and printed in black and white on cheap pulp paper. The covers and their lurid colors were chilling. At the end of the 60s the rise of Television nearly killed the photonovel industry. In France, only romance survived, with a huge collection called NOUS DEUX (« Both of Us »).
