Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme
I stumbled across this on YouTube and I really enjoy what I've seen so far. The documentary has been broken down into parts that you can find HERE.I like the range of Freestyle they explore...and it helps even more that there are some nice bits with many of my favorite artists like: Cut Chemist, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, and Planet Asia.

It's a great film. It's a little jerky, because it was shot in different formats over several years, but it's riveting nonetheless.

allan l.:I have to check the whole thing out. Love what I saw so far...it's so sad how the poetic aspect of hip-hop has been mostly lost amongst the bling bling/corporate identity of mainstream rap music. There's way more to good hip hop than a danceable beat! :-)-MPB
