River City Ransom
RIVER CITY RANSOM was the English localized version of TECHNOS JAPAN'S Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari. Technos Japan is best known in the United States for their Beat 'Em Up Arcade Game, DOUBLE DRAGON. But, I have always had a fond place in my gaming heart for River City Ransom. River City Ransom is an interesting blend of Beat 'Em Up Arcade action and Role Playing item collecting. As in Double Dragon, you go around a city in search of goons to beat up. To switch things up a bit, though, you can buy items with coins you collect from defeated enemies to improve your fighting skills or replenish energy. It is my dream to one day make a Luchadores5/Tequila game in the same format as River City Ransom!

I'm a big fan of River City Ransom as well. I love all those side scrolling beat 'em ups like Final Fight, Double Dragon, Streets of Rage 2, TMNT: Turtles in Time! Ah the wonderful memories... long live 2D!A beat 'em with your characters would be awesome.

G:A great list of beat 'em ups. Guy (from Final Fight) is one of the COOLEST videogame characters.I feel River City Ransom's structure would translate best into a Luchadores5 beat 'em up because you really got a sense that this all took place in a cohesive city. I loved how you could travel back and forth between the shop areas and different regions of the city. AFROTEAM:Double Dragon 2 was fun. That spinning jump kick was deadly (on the NES)!-Muttpop Bob

ah je ne me rappeles pas avoir joué a celui la ,mais par contre je me souviens m'être usé les doigts sur un jeu de(baston /foot )de la game boy,kunio soccer y'avait le même graphisme delirant ,merci pour le revival faf.

Glad to see that other people loved this game as much as I did. My favorite part is when you finally get inside the school and the Double dragon theme starts playing. That literally scared the crap out of me. I was really young and double dragon was like my highschool bully.
