Habibi Preview
Much controversy has arisen around CRAIG THOMPSON. His original graphic novel, BLANKETS, was received in most parts of the world with wide critical acclaim and rave reviews. But many French comic enthusiasts feel his work is a pale imitation of BLUTCH's cartooning. Say what they will, I adore Thompson's work. His lines are consistently beautiful and lyrical and I can't wait for his latest project, HABIBI to be published. Thompson has finally released a one page preview of Habibi on his DOOT DOOT GARDEN BLOG. Check it out along with a super awesome CD design he did for the MENOMENA "FRIEND OR FOE" album below.

I was never even aware of any controversy in relation to his art till now, but I too am a massive fan of Blankets (I don't have many graphic novels on my book shelf, but Blankets is one of those that are).

Yeah, JC Menu at L'ASSOCIATION was really pissed about it.
