Meteor
METEOR was one of the most famous popular french comics. It was published in the 50s by Artima and drawn by Raoul Giordano. Giordano joined Artima in 1950 and first worked on western and adventure stories. In 1953 Artima launched METEOR. It was a monthly publication of 32 pages. Giordano worked very hard, sometimes 16 hours a day. The pay was low and the french censorship (the "Commission de Contrôle des Publications Destinées à la Jeunesse") was sharp. The covers were very attracting. Here, you will view the same covers in b&w. And here you have a complete explanation of the color process. Giordano stopped METEOR in 1967, after 5000 pages !
