The Shaggs

Yes, this is real... THE SHAGGS are a real band, they're around since almost 40 years. This is their website. I'm tempted to sign up for a membership just to get the amazing goodies they're offering. I just listened to a few of their songs and it's beyond belief! It's like three people playing without even knowing what others are playing. I don't know if it's funny or scary. On the PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORLD song there are some kind of drum solos that could have only been conceived on another planet. Long live THE SHAGGS!

American Elf

Since October of 1998, James Kolchaka has been capturing tidbits of his life in an ongoing comic journal. For a small fee of 1.95 per month you can see Kolchaka's life capture in comic book form in digital real time! One of the few internet subscriptions I have...and worth every penny. Here are some recent samples from his journal:

I always hated putting a kit together, I don't have enough patience and... skills. But I have always dreamed of building some AURORA kits. I love them deeply. I don't know if it's because of their amazing boxes or the actual kits. There's a nice page here about AURORA, it's full of info and beautiful things.
