Gold Key Star Trek Comics
I've always like the GOLD KEY COMICS, mainly because of their amazing covers. They did numerous comic books series based on TV shows like THE AVENGERS, THE TWILIGHT ZONE, THE FLINTSTONES or TARZAN. Here, you can find the 61 covers of the STAR TREK series.

The Shaolin Cowboy
Since designing a bunch of stuff for the MATRIX movies, Geof Darrow has been playing in his little comic book sandbox called THE SHAOLIN COWBOY from BURLYMAN ENTERTAINMENT. It's like reading Bugs Bunny comics on a bad 'shroom trip. Rapping zombies. Kung fu crabs. Demonic babies. A talking jackass. What more do you need?

Habibi Preview
Much controversy has arisen around CRAIG THOMPSON. His original graphic novel, BLANKETS, was received in most parts of the world with wide critical acclaim and rave reviews. But many French comic enthusiasts feel his work is a pale imitation of BLUTCH's cartooning. Say what they will, I adore Thompson's work. His lines are consistently beautiful and lyrical and I can't wait for his latest project, HABIBI to be published. Thompson has finally released a one page preview of Habibi on his DOOT DOOT GARDEN BLOG. Check it out along with a super awesome CD design he did for the MENOMENA "FRIEND OR FOE" album below.

Peur(s) Du Noir
Here are some stills from a very interesting animated project being developed in France. PEUR(S) DU NOUR (or FEAR(S) OF THE DARK in English) is a collection of animated shorts overseen by Etienne Robial. The TRAILER is enough to get any animation enthusiast excited...but when you hear that cartooning masters BLUTCH and CHARLES BURNS are responsible for two of the animated shorts, it becomes a must see project.

Marc Caro
During the seventies and eighties, before he was a respected director, Marc Caro was a comic book artist. He published in magazines like METAL HURLANT, CHARLIE MENSUEL or L'ECHO DES SAVANES. He hasn't published a lot of book but this one, TOT, is a must have. One of my favorite comic book ever.

Le Blog d'Hervé
Hervé Tanquerelle, the artist behind THE LUCHADORITOS has a new blog. He's talking about what he likes and what he does. Since it's French, let me tell you about one of his most fascinating project. Everyday, he opens the white pages, pick a name and an address and draw what he thinks could be that person. I think it's an amazing idea.
