Food Fryer/Goldfish Tank

Here's something incredibly funky I came across online. Some Japanese restaurant has created an environmentally friendly food fryer/fish tank. It's supposed to work on the basic principle that the densities of water and oil are different enough to force them to separate. The hot oil on top can fry food. The water, at the bottom, is home to goldfish that eat all of the crumbs that float to the bottom. Cool idea...but there's a lot more I'd like to know. Where do the goldfish poops go? How do you clean the water? Is it possible to change the oil? Despite all of this, it's a pretty nifty concept.

Tavares

I didn't know why but this morning I woke up thinking about TAVARES, a disco band form the seventies that I didn't even like. I made a search, found this picture and realized why I though about them: because of their amazing look!

More Things That Go On The Road

The truck belongs to an actor/director/producer. He's going from café to café trying to sell copies of his movies. I've seen him and his truck many times. I took the picture of the hotrod a while ago not far from my place, on Griffith Park Boulevard in Silverlake. I don't know who owns it but I wish it would be me. I absolutely love it!

The King Of Security

A few days ago, I saw this truck in my neighborhood. It belongs to a kind of guy we can only find in Los Angeles, an actor/producer/security guard/pastor. I didn't have time to wait and take a picture of him but I found everything I wanted to know about him on his website.

The Shaggs

Yes, this is real... THE SHAGGS are a real band, they're around since almost 40 years. This is their website. I'm tempted to sign up for a membership just to get the amazing goodies they're offering. I just listened to a few of their songs and it's beyond belief! It's like three people playing without even knowing what others are playing. I don't know if it's funny or scary. On the PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORLD song there are some kind of drum solos that could have only been conceived on another planet. Long live THE SHAGGS!

Mermaids

"Mermaids exist in the twilight place between land and sea, in the psychological intertidal zone between life-giver and life-taker..." This is the kind of website I love, it's an unbelievable collection of mermaids! They're out there, somewhere and the Tikitis will find them.
