No More Heroes (Wii)

Here's another game I'm looking forward to on the Wii: "No More Heroes". Suda 51, the game's creator, is an interesting dude that claims his inspiration for this game came from Jodorowsky's "El Topo" and Johnny Knoxville."No More Heroes" visual style appears to be a graphical evolution from "Killer 7", Suda's last game. I adore what I am seeing thus far. The games not out yet, but I'll be the first in line when it comes out!

Jamungo's BUD Series 2 (Blow Up Dolls) will begin appearing in finer designer toy stores worldwide in the next 2 weeks. Our Tequila BUD will be one of two chase figures (the other is by Kozik). The figures are about 3 inches (10cm) tall. They are sold in a blind box for an MSRP of $9.95. Your chance of getting a Tequila BUD is 2.1% (based on the package insert).I'm really happy with how Tequila looks. Gobi, Jerry, and I collaborated on this one based on Gobi's marvelous Tequila Shirt design. It's nice to finally have one in my hands!

The Maxx Animated

Back in 1993 Sam Kieth joined Image with a nifty book called The Maxx. Somehow that led to a really solid Animated adaption that debuted on MTV two years later (in 1995).The Maxx was really ahead of its time. I regard it as one of the first successful attempts at doing an American Anime. I'm super disappointed I never picked up a VHS copy of the series. Why isn't there an official DVD version?!

Common: Finding Forever

Man, COMMON's latest album is awesome! Common is as poetic and poignant as ever. The production (mostly by Kanye West) is excellent.Anyone who has even a remote interest in Hip-Hop should check it out! I forgot what good Hip-Hop is supposed to be like. This album did a great job of reminding me.Here are videos for the first two singles. I prefer just listening to the music, but this is the quickest way to give you a taste of what it's like.Enjoy.

5000 Fingers

Almost unknown in Europe, THE 5000 FINGERS OF Dr. T is a masterpiece. Written by Dr. Seuss and directed by Roy Rowland in 1953, THE 5000 FINGERS OF Dr. T tells the story of Bart and his nemesis, his piano teacher, Dr. Terwilliker (Dr. T). This madman has a plan to force 5oo kids (5000 fingers) to play non stop on a giant piano... Visually stunning, it's way more than a kid movie. It's full of unbelievable characters and some moments are scarier than a lot of horror movies.

Capcom Games & Racism

This last week Capcom has been receiving lots of criticism for their portrayals of race and culture in two of their upcoming videogames.First off, Black interest groups are very concerned about the portrayal of blacks as zombies in the upcoming RESIDENT EVIL 5. In the game your character roams around a Caribbean locale killing voodoo zombies.Second, Capcom's getting flack for the inclusion of the chanted phrase, "Allahu Akbar" (meaning "God is Great" in Arabic) in the upcoming Wii game ZACK & WIKI. The phrase is repeatedly chanted by a monkey tribe that drinks some mysterious stew from skulls. Capcom claims they will remove it from the final game.I personally think the Resident Evil freak out is stupid. Didn't the concept of zombies come from the Caribbean? How is that racist? But the ZACK & WIKI thing is weird. The game is clearly aimed at an all ages audience and if I were Muslim I'd feel a bit weird seeing my kid play a game where that happened.Ironically, after seeing this video Zack & Wiki has become my most anticipated game for the Nintendo Wii. The game looks awesome. The design reminds me a bit of Fabien's work on Tikitis. What do you think? Check out the videos and decide for yourself!Resident Evil 5Zack & Wiki
