Alan Moore & Mark Beyer Comic Collabo
Along with Frank Miller, Alan Moore redefined US Superhero comics in the 1980s. I'm a big fan of the majority of his comic work (who isn't?).
When I see how beautiful and unusual his infrequent non-superhero work is, it makes me a little sad that he hasn't produced more work outside of the pulp/superhero genre. Scans Daily has scans of the complete short story Alan Moore did with artist Mark Beyer in Raw vol. 2 #3 (published in 1991). "The Bowing Machine" is Moore and Beyer's perverse exploration of Japanese Business ritual and culture.

New Apple Product: Click Wheel Computer
I usually try to keep my posts to 1 a day. But this was too funny and brilliant to hold off on. The always funny folks at The Onion did a masterful job at a television tech news bit in conjunction with MacWorld. I'm pretty sure there'll be a fair share of people who watch this and think it's a real product. The delivery is so good, it has you thinking it's legit. The video's deserves a few watches because it's packed with many, many levels of hilarity.

Italian Spiderman
Italian Spiderman. Hot sex on a platter with a twist of uber-kitsch. Where was I when this first came out?!
This fake 60/70s Italian film was originally created as an Australian student film project in 2007. The main character has nothing to do with the Marvel Superhero of the same name (plus/minus hyphen) except for a longsleeved red shirt sporting a (seven legged) spider. Online popularity for the mock trailer was strong enough to get financing for a 10-part mini movie that was published weekly on YouTube in May 2008.
This is how I like my superhero films: cheesy, lo-fi, in a foreign language, and with a handful of beautiful chicas (the masked luchador villains also help)!

Band Logo Blog
First off, Happy New Years! I hope 2009 is a marvelous year for you and yours.
I came across this amazing blog/resource collecting the histories behind the design of various rock band/musician logos. We associate band and musician logos to music as much as (and in some cases even more so) the artists who make the music. So it's really fun to see the back stories to these iconic sigils.
