Star Cine Cosmos

The 60s were the best period for the photonovel industry, which was huge in Italy and in France. There were all kind of photonovels: romance, horror, western, sci-fi, adventure… Most of them were movie shots, but in Italy they produced real original stories, with characters photographed in settings. Each genre had its own collection. The most famous was the french STAR CINE COSMOS, dedicated to sci fi and printed in black and white on cheap pulp paper. The covers and their lurid colors were chilling. At the end of the 60s the rise of Television nearly killed the photonovel industry. In France, only romance survived, with a huge collection called NOUS DEUX (« Both of Us »).

RIP Johnny Ramone

OK, I'm not -that- stupid. I know he died two years ago. This morning I was at the "Hollywood Memorial" in Los Angeles, taking pictures for the next chapter of the LUCHADORES FIVE and I found the grave of Johnny Ramone. Since it's never to late to pay some respect to one of the member of the best band ever, I took a picture and posted here.

Tikitis!

Yesterday, Fabien sent me 10 (TEN!) new pages of the Tikitis. Here's one where you can see 3 of the main characters. The one with the hat is Philoloco, the short one with a brain on his mask is CerebreX and the fat one is Doctor Sumo. The short lady is Philoloco's mother, paying him a visit on his island... This page, along with 19 others will be featured in LUCHA LIBRE #3, to be released in January.

Okami

This amazing game just came out for the Playstation 2 in the United States. Much like what Yoshi’s Island was for the Super Nintendo, Okami is an ambitious gaming effort that is being released during the tail end of it’s chosen console’s life span. If you own a PS2, do yourself a favor and be sure to check out this stunning example of videogame design.Okami is developed by Capcom’s Clover Studios under the supervision of game director Hideki Kamiya. As he has done in his previous efforts (such as Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe) Kamiya has brought a unique sense visual style and play mechanics to this wonderful game.In Okami you are a Wolf God who must restore beauty and peace to feudal Japan by destroying evil spiritual forces.Check out the Sumi-e (Japanese Brush Art) inspired visuals in the trailer (above) and screenshots (below)!
