It's been many, many years since Daniel Zana interviewed Jerry and me for his Vinyl Frontier documentary. At the time, Mr. Zana was living on the West Coast and preparing for his move to New York. Red Demon Original had just been released. We gave him a rare glimpse at the many wonderful versions of Red Demon and Mini Gobi we had been preparing to unveil to the inquiring public. Since then, Red Demon was released. Mini Gobis were released. Dr. Destruction was released. Pretty much, life went on... but we (along with the many wonderful designer toy peeps that had been interviewed) were casually curious to see if Zana was fiddling away on his documentary film rather than being whisked away by the grand city of New York.

I am glad to see that the film has not been forgotten. Daniel revealed a 12 minute preview of the film of which Muttpop Bob (me) has a bit part. It's a younger (and I'd like to think less handsome version) than my current self... but it's cool to be seen alongside some of the Designer Toy greats! You can see me ruminating about the Designer Toy scene at the 4:33 mark and 11:23 mark. Jerry was also filmed for the documentary... hopefully there'll be some of him in the final cut of the film.

Along with the many Custom figures Ohm designed, he also managed to find time to do a variety of Original Sketches. I should emphasize the word 'variety'. Every fan requesting a sketch from Ohm walked away with a beautiful and original pen illustration of whatever wacky concept Ohm could think of. Characters were a variety of monsters, demons, animals, and robots. All of them were cute, charming, impeccably drawn and 100% Ohm. Below are a few of my favorites. Whittling it down to my favorite six was super hard because everything Ohm did was wonderful! Thanks again to all the wonderful fans who found the time to meet with us.

As anybody at a San Diego Comic-con signing can attest, Ohm really brought his best on the various custom Tcho figures he did for fans. Every custom piece was a unique figure done with the extra care and enthusiasm that Ohm's known for. People had to wait a little while for their custom figure, but the fans waited and were rewarded with some of the best impromptu custom pieces done at the convention. It was hard for me to come up with my favorite batch of figures from the many pictures we took. But here are a few great ones! Thanks to Ohm for his hard work and dedication. Thanks to all the amazing Muttpop fans we had the fortune and pleasure to catch up with!

Ohm celebrated his first-time going to San Diego Comic-con with two signings: Toy Qube and DKE Toys. Turnouts for both signings were good and fans seemed really happy with the sketches and customized figures that Ohm was churning out. With some encouragement, Ohm was even found doing some French rapping for the video cameras of fellow artist and interviewer: Jesse Hernandez. If those vids of 'MC' Ohm ever show up on the internet, we'll be sure you know where to find them!

I spent the day yesterday visiting a couple of the better known beaches in Los Angeles (Santa Monica & Venice) with our French visitors from Muttpop. Ohm and Nico finally got to dip their toes in the Pacific Ocean. Weather was nice. The girls were beautiful. Started the day off nice and easy in Santa Monica. Ended the day zany and edgy in Venice. Highlight of the Santa Monica beach was seeing some 5 year-old girl put sand crabs in Ohm's toe-graffiti. Highlight of Venice was seeing two 50-year-old dudes fist fight for 5 minutes and then give up because the two of them were out of breath. All in all a cool day in LA.

Jack at Vinyl Pulse was gracious enough to do an interview with Ohm about himself, his art process, and his experience working on the Tcho figures. The interview also showcases Ohm's sweet art skills; once again working the way 'real' men do: ink straight to paper!

While at the Vinyl Pulse/Switcheroo studio we were able to spend some brief moments with Amanda Vissell, Michelle Valigura, and Bwana Spoons. I was able to get a close look at the Kozik X Vissell Kid Robot piece for SDCC (it looks AMAZING!) and a bunch of awesome stuff Bwana is getting ready for his SDCC Grass Hut booth.
