This was the first variant figure ever done by Muttpop. We really wanted to take things in a completely different direction by applying paint in a very abstract manner. Keep in mind, that at this point, we had NEVER done a figure. So explaining the paint application process to the factory was foreign to us.

Jerry did some experimental paint tests in Photoshop. Bob loved the technique but didn't like the original contrast that Jerry came up with (which I recall being a dark green on green). An orange hue was decided upon to create some contrast and...BAM! We had it.

It was pretty magical having the Tequila Extra Spicy prototype in our hands for the first time. The spray technique looked even better in person than we had imagined.
Oh yeah, and why Extra Spicy? Well just look at it. Isn't that hot?! Also the Muttpop Crew loves food so we tried to incorporate that into our various themes.
